Horns Up for Blindmann

Blindmann biography

Blindman was founded in the spring 1999, but the band didn’t have a name until the summer 2000, when they started making the first CD. The name Blindman comes from the surnames of the two founders – Lindström and Manninen. (A brilliant idea, isn’t it?) Biography

Blindman was founded in the spring 1999, but the band didn’t have a name until the summer 2000, when they started making the first CD.

The name Blindman comes from the surnames of the two founders – Lindström and Manninen. (A brilliant idea, isn’t it?)

These two guys played together (guitar and drums) a while until they found a bassist, Petteri Virtanen in the summer 1999.

They played as a trio, and were looking for a singer all the time. In the autumn 1999 Petteri left the band, but luckily they found another Virtanen, whose first name is Vellu and who can play the bass, too. Vellu joined the band and finally in the winter 1999 Jussi Virkajärvi announced that he would be interested to try singing in the band.

The fifth member of the band – Jussi Timonen – joined Blindman in the spring 2000, and Lindström’s dream of two guitars was completed.

So nothing happened overnight, but now the band felt that the package was ready. In the summer 2000 Blindman record their first CD for promoting purposes, and it was released in the autumn. In the summer 2001 the band record second album, that got name "Signed". Time of release was in the autumn.

In the first part of the year 2002, Bindman got finnish the video from song "War of the Black Sun". In the near future the band would like to make a new video and some time in 2002 and 2003 they are planning to do some gigs.
