The story of Generic Flesh begins in fall 2005, when Kari moved to Vaasa and was looking a band to join to. Jari soon contacted him and Kari was supposed go to try that band out. The band broke before the thing really got to start. Kari then told Jari that maybe he could pick up his 7string and they could go jam together. After that they started to play together. Then came Jaakko who played in a band called Kaatorsnik. Kari knew Jaakko from musicians internet forum and knew he had 7string guitar and a good taste in metal music. Later on Jaakko moved to Vaasa and left Kaatorsnik. This was the lineup almost a year. We couldn't really find bass player and singer who could fit the band.
Then, in year 2007, came along Sami who played guitar in Tyrant Disciple, where Kari also plays. The Singer, Lasse, who we found on the spring 2007 made our line up ready. Generic Flesh started to record their demo as soon as Lasses participation was confirmed.
The band was at first called Holocaust Industry but many people got the wrong idea and we had deaththreats messages from people, who thought that we were anti-semitic (we are not*) and so we were forced to change our name. We were pulled somewhere where didn't want to be. I quess in this world you cant use the word holocaust supplement to bloodbath.
All members of Generic Flesh love extreme metal, some listen more technical and progressive stuff, some love just plain brutal black metal. Our goal is to make good songs and be as open minded as we can, mix of many metal styles. Our music is described as math and prog orientated deathmetal. Listen it yourself and decide is that description suitable.
*= in a case you can't read between the lines...
**Jari and Jaakko have left the band to pursue other projects! We thank both of them for their contribution on the demo and in the band in general! That being said we need another 2nd guitarist and a drummer so contact us if intrested**
