Biography

Gotham O.D is a heavy rock band that respects strongly traditions and convinces listeners with their organic and dynamic sound. The band released a strong debut album Monochromatic on 22.8.2007.

Gotham O.D has previously released three well sold EP:s and appeared live frequently. In the fall of 2006 the band signed a record deal with Off Records Finland and begun the pre-production of the album. Before the release, a three-way split EP SGV (including songs from Gotham O.D, Saralee and Velvetcut) hit the stores in the end of June 2007. The EP was released in co-operation by Off Records Finland and Firebox Records. Also a single, My Day of Reckoning was released on 25.7.2007.

Gotham O.D invests highly to their compositions and makes all the arrangements together as a group. They wanted that this could be truly heard from the album, so they hired Juuso Jalasmäki as a producer. He had worked with the guys on the two previous EP:s with great success. Eventually, Jalasmäki also joined the band to replace guitarist Janne Hyvönen who left the group in the spring of 2007. Monochromatic was recorded and mixed at Sundicoop Studios, Savonlinna by engineer and co-producer Tuomo Valtonen during the cold and dark days of Finland..s midwinter. He completed the team perfectly and so the album..s heavy, natural, dark and also aggressive soundscape was born. Too clean and overproduced sound is definitely not this band..s thing, Monochromatic rocks naturally with a feeling.

During their existence the band has steadily raised their profile in Finland and abroad, also. With the release of the album they get to convince new and growing audiences with their strong material and energetic, impressive live performances.
