Biography
"The beginning? It was early 2008. I remember getting a text message from Toni who was at Megadeth concert... "how about we try and play some shit together?" Well hell, I called Kimi and before we knew it, we were at his parents house where they have a rehearsal studio. This was february ´08. I took the bass (at least i tried), Kimi was on the drums and Toni on the guitar...and goddamn, things sounded good. But we needed two more guys if we wanted to play as a band...Toni`s brother Juha was a wizard on drums so it was obvious he would take the role as the drummer. Kimi grabbed his guitar (which was more his thing), and for the bass we managed to get Lassi. For myself... I ended up with the microphone.
We immidiately started looking for a place where we could play some serious death metal. Easier said than done. It was march ´08, and we had no place where we could rehearse. Me and Toni we were at my house and we started talking about turning my garage into a rehearsal studio. Two months later, and "The Dungeon" was born. It became our very own place where we could shred and play some brutal music without anyone coming to tell us to "quiet down". Oh and occasionally, we have a few beers there...
The year 2008 went as we wrote songs and tried to figure out what`s the name of the band. There were few pretty ridiculous suggestions there but hey... let`s keep ´em a secret. In early 2009, we went and recorded a two song demo at Studio 3rd Track. "Rejection Of Belief" and "Waiting For Execution". Not long after that, we came up with a name for the band and...well, MESETIAH it is.
It was fall ´09, and we sent the demo to participate in a local band contest, where the winner would get the chance to play on the big stage at the KOKKOLA ROCK FESTIVAL 2009. We thought we would never make it as a death metal band. And we didn`t... at first. Later we got a call that one of the bands that made it to the finals pulled out, and that MESETIAH was given the spot... "Holy shit, what just happened?" "Where the hell did we put ourselves?" We had never played live and now we were about make our first appearance in front of judges! Sweet Jesus on a cornfield!!! Well, we went out there, gave it all and had fun while doing so... and we won! The whole goddamn shit! MESETIAH won! Goddamn! "We`re playing on the big stage at the Kokkola Rock Festival ´09." And from that first gig, the DENZO CREW was born.
Oh yes, the Denzo Crew. Our friends, supporters, fans and everyone who knows how to have a good time with us...you`re part of the crew! We`ll be seeing you! The rest is history..."
