Biography
SILENE was formed in the fall of 2004 to to bring their own personal touch into the dark scene of Finnish gothic music.
They started their musical path by playing Siouxsie And The Banshees covers, which was the music they all enjoyed and knew they were not alone. After a couple of rehearsals, the band was soon engaged with writing and playing their own songs and it became clear that they should definitely continue making music together.
SILENE derives their musical influences from the traditional gothic rock, but don’t be afraid to spice their music up with the elements of punk, pop, classical music, or any other genre that suits their tastes.
The members of the band have a long and varied musical background in bands like Fucking Finland, Kuolleet Kukat, Fury Raven, Dancing Golem, SinMasters, Two Witches, tour musician for Love Like Blood - just to mention a few.
2005
SILENE played their first two gigs, performing the cover songs of Siouxsie and the Banshees. Both gigs were a big success, so thanks to the eager crowd.
2006
SILENE played some wonderful gigs and the rest of the year they concentrated on writing their own songs. Their debut EP was released in August and it received a really good feedback!
2007
Again, some great gigs in different venues in Finland. One special gig is worth mentioning: Two Witches 20 years celebration concert. Best wishes to 2W from the whole band - continue the good work guys! Some footage of the SILENE gig should be available in YouTube soonish...
In the autumn, the band was in Cosmic Studio, Tampere, recording material for their new EP.
2008
The second EP "In The Middle" was released in Spring.
