Biography

Tuhkalehto (engl. Ashgrove) is a young band from Jyväskylä founded in 2007. Their debut album „Piilotettu maa“(engl. hidden country/land) released on may 28^th 2008. The music of Tuhkalehto is romantic rock music with a dark tone from the 21^st century sung in finnish. Tuhkalehto are influenced for example by the finnish national romanticism.

Tuhkalehto was born from the thoughts of Sampo-Ilmari first time in the summer of 2005 in the cathedral of Tampere, that is thought to be the peek of finnish romanticism. He knew that his dream never could come true without his friends. Sampo-Ilmari wanted to look for band members, that one could be able to have as good friends and with whom one share the same music style. At this time Matias was found for drums, Jere for guitar, Kim for bass guitar and Risto for keyboards they founded the Band Tuhkalehto together. The last period of birth started when the material for the album „Piilotettu maa“ was born.

Sampo-Ilmari has had a dream of an own Record label for a long time. When he met a friend who shared the same dream they founded together the record label „ACE Revolutions“. The first band chosen was naturally Tuhkalehto.

Their lyrics tell about love, dreams, win against own fear and about honesty towards oneself and society. These are  topics Tuhkalehto's debut album deals with as well which was released 28^th of may 2008. The first single of the album „Piilotettu maa“ is called „Piilotettu maa“ and can be downloaded for free from wwww.myspace.com/tuhkalehto. Tuhkalehto await many gigs and new friends around finland in 2008.
