VANGUARD Books Studio Time

Vocalist J.Grym of the Finnish "dark metal" act VANGUARD has posted the following message on the group's web site:

"Easter is behind us and now, and finally we booked a studio. So we will start recording our next album on May 12. We'll do it in two sessions, about two weeks per session.

"We hope that the record would be mixed and mastered in July. Then we'll go back to the negotiating tables with the labels that have shown interest in us, and we'll see who releases it. We'll post pictures and keep a more active blog, or studio diary, when we're recording.

"It's a really great feeling setting real schedules and knowing something will happen at last. This going in circles has really got on our nerves, and we noticed we have started bickering and the whole band has got stressed so it was time to take action.

"We're only a couple of weeks from the gig to Moscow, and we really don't know what to expect. Only Tonmi [Lillman; drums] has been there before and that was with TO/DIE/FOR, and that time their guitars were stolen, so we're hoping that everything goes smoothly for us!"

VANGUARD won a band contest held by Metal Hammer magazine and Armageddon Music at the Wacken Open Air festival in 2004 and released its debut record, "Succumbra", in the summer of 2005 through Armageddon. Since then VANGUARD has performed a number of gigs, including a club show at the Tuska festival and again in Germany at the Wacken Open Air festival.
