LORDI, GIRLSCHOOL, SCARLET SINS Set For Australia's ROCK OUT FESTIVAL
26.02.2009
LORDI, GIRLSCHOOL and SCARLET SINS are the first confirmed bands for the Rock Out Festival, a new Australian hard rock/heavy metal event set to take place in April. According to a posting on the SCARLET SINS web site, the festival will take place on the following dates:
April 10-12 - Queensland Raceway, Ipswich (Brisbane)
April 17-19 - Parramatta Stadium, Parramatta
April 24-26 - Calder Park Raceway, Keilor (Melbourne)
The Brisbane and Melbourne venues will have camping facilities on-site — including three-day festival passes — so fans can experience a European style musical journey without leaving the heart of the action.
A ticket pre-sale begins on March 2 at Ticketek. Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 4.

There's something really dodgy about this festival.

what do you mean Oz?

The festivals are supposed to be next month and it's only just been announced, for a 3 day event the line-up is terrible and the tickets are way overpriced, apparently the Sydney venue isn't confirmed and there is no official website for information. I can't see them selling many tickets for this at all.

And this has just appeared....

"Due to unforseen circumstances LORDI have been taken off the Rock Out festival, we hope to see them here in the future."

Sydney Venue is Eastern Creek Raceway - changed due to issues with Local council and Police. This was after months of planning, and hence the delay in advertising and sales.
LORDI was withdrawn from the Festival after they (not their management) booked shows that would have conflicted with the event.
Pricing when considering all the bands and compared to many other events or single performances is believed to be fair, and more bands will be shown as confirmed soon.
All feedback is welcome, this is the 1st year, and nothing is ever as easy as one would wish, no matter the planning behind it.

You want feedback?
- Get some real European metal bands instead of ancient pub rock bands.
- Make this a 1 day festival instead of 3, let it grow from there.
- I was going to say at Eastern Creek, if you have 2 entrances then make sure people know that there are 2 (after the Soundwave problems) but I really don't think you'll have the problem of thousands of people trying to get in.
- The website looks messy and unprofessional.
- I still say tickets are way too much with the current line-up, but hey, you might shock me and announce a few known bands.
- Good luck. We need more festivals that include metal bands but this one looks set to crash and burn.

This has now been postponed until later in the year. Smart move.
