TARJA TURUNEN In Munich: Video Available

Video footage of former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen's October 3, 2009 concert in Munich, Germany can be viewed below (courtesy of "eblinternational").

The lineup of Turunen's band for the "Final Storm Tour 2009", which kicked off on September 19 at the Elf Fantasy Fair in Arcen, Netherlands, is as follows:

* Tarja Turunen - Voice
* Mike Terrana (MASTERPLAN, SAVAGE CIRCUS, RAGE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - Drums
* Christian Kretschmar (SCHILLER) - Keyboards
* Oliver Holzwarth (BLIND GUARDIAN, SIEGES EVEN) - Bass
* Alex Scholpp (FARMER BOYS) - Guitar
* Max Lilja (HEVEIN, APOCALYPTICA) - Cello

Turunen recently recorded three songs for a Finnish Christmas album, produced by Olli Ahvenlahti. According to Turunen, this is "a charity project for missionary workers in Finland and it is going to be released in the beginning of November in Finland."

Tarja Turunen has set "What Lies Beneath" as the working title of her new solo CD, tentatively due in early 2010. She says, "With [2007's] 'My Winter Storm', I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album. With the new album, I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it."

    Well, at least it is not a Mountain of aaaahhhhhhhh... again.

    BTW: the second outfit does not suit her much. Her breasts look strange in that.

    I walk alone is a great song and it's one of the best live versions I've heard the past 3 years from Over The Hills And Far Away..

  10. @Susana: my 6 yo son has also a weak spot for Tarja and listens all the time to "sing for me" / "calling grace"
    He should have joined me and my wife last octobre to see Tarja play my home city but was ill. I got her signature and a nice word from him on the NW biography

    Actually, this is an interesting thing: I have the official NW bio signed by NW and Anette ( aka Princess ), they dedicated the book for my son to. When Tarja came to play my city, I wanted her to sign the bio too. I was quite confused and asked her permission if she didn't mind to sign it like, I almost apologized. But she was very cool like saying "No problem"... I surely wouldn't if I was here. But she did.

    @Z: Actually, I always thought that OTHAFA is actually a Led Zeppelin song. *goes to iTunes*

  26. Just got back from Tarja's show in Athens...It kicked serious ass!!!

    I really don't understand why people say that she's cold and frozen...I've seen her twice and every time she is full of energy,cheerful and happy!
    Not to mention that her band played Nightwish songs waaaay better than Nighwish!

    A beautiful experience,but i'm sad she didn't say "Montanas"...

    But what everyone seemed to like was her chant "Eiste telioi",which means "you're awesome" in Greek...

    They say it in the Nightwish meaning, which is 100% opposite to the meaning of the rest of the world. ;-)

  30. Over the Hills and Far Aways (this one) is an original song by Gary Moore from his album Wild Frontier(1987).

    The song by Zeppelin is totally different, although has same name. Gosh, some NW fans even do not know whose songs NW once covered, lol

    I'm so glad that current NW singer didn't sing OTHAFA, she would have ruined it like she did with all old songs, well she even manages to ruin songs from DPP live, lol
