TARJA TURUNEN Interviewed In Zagreb; Video Available

A video interview with former NIGHTWISH singer Tarja Turunen conducted by 24ur.com on October 6, 2009 in Zagreb, Croatia can be viewed below. Also available is fan-filmed video footage from the Zagreb concert.

The lineup of Turunen's band for the "Final Storm Tour 2009", which kicked off on September 19 at the Elf Fantasy Fair in Arcen, Netherlands, is as follows:

* Tarja Turunen - Voice
* Mike Terrana (MASTERPLAN, SAVAGE CIRCUS, RAGE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) - Drums
* Christian Kretschmar (SCHILLER) - Keyboards
* Oliver Holzwarth (BLIND GUARDIAN, SIEGES EVEN) - Bass
* Alex Scholpp (FARMER BOYS) - Guitar
* Max Lilja (HEVEIN, APOCALYPTICA) - Cello

Turunen recently recorded three songs for a Finnish Christmas album, produced by Olli Ahvenlahti. According to Turunen, this is "a charity project for missionary workers in Finland and it is going to be released in the beginning of November in Finland."

Tarja Turunen has set "What Lies Beneath" as the working title of her new solo CD, tentatively due in early 2010. She says, "With [2007's] 'My Winter Storm', I chose the name of the album in the early stages and that helped me to create the concept for the album. With the new album, I decided to do it the same way, so I searched for an inspiring title and all the songs are one way or another related to it."

  1. I was there, it was a great concert! She sang in the audience again. :-) Though it was not "Founains of Aaaaahhhhhh". :-( It was my 5th time to see Tarja live solo, and again I didn't hear OTHAFA live. I missed it for just one gig. As usually... But I like that she changes the setlist all the time. ;-)

    By "Boats & Boots" are you thinking of the movie Stepbrothers by any chance in this reference? That's the first thing that popped to mind when you mentioned that.

    It's a hilarious thought. Tuomas, on a boat making a rap about "Boats & Hos" lol

    Another ditty that came to mind was "I'm On a Boat" by the Lonely Island (It's hilarious :)

    Haha no, I didn't have that one on my mind. I had Madonna's "Sweet & Sticky" World Tour and then I just changed "Sweet" with "Boats" and "Sticky" with "Boots", lol!

    They should have filmed a DVD of the last Hartwall Arena Gig, tittled "Boats & Boots", featuring Maestro Tuomas "Oceansold" Holopainen and Princess Anette "PMS" Olzon. XD And a special never-to-be-released cover song of Nyman's Piano theme, DESPISED by the original author. LIMITED EDITION!!! XD
