THE REAL MCCOY BAND - "We Want To Take The Opportunity To Apologize Our Fans For The Cancelled Gigs"

Former HANOI ROCKS guitarist Andy McCoy's THE REAL MCCOY BAND cancelled the remainder of their Finnish dates on November 11th due to Chris Shiflett's (guitar - FOO FIGHTERS) child contracting the swine influenza and Chris flew back to the US immediately.

The tour had been celebrating Andy's long career on the Sailing Down The Years Tour and the lineup featured:

Andy McCoy - lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
Chris Shiflett (FOO FIGHTERS) - lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
Dan Lagersted - bass, vocals
Angela McCoy - female vocals, percussions and keyboards
Jolle Atlagic - drums

Andy McCoy has issued a new update: "Chris got safe back to home after a long journey last Thursday. Things are in control with his family, thank God! Family is always the highest priority.

The cancellation was very unfortunate and we want to take the opportunity to apologize our fans for the cancelled gigs. Nevertheless, in that situation the only possible solution was to cancel the rest of the gigs: it was not possible to replace Chris in such a short notice, song arrangements were all for a two guitar band, a show without Chris would've caused some complaints and so on.

As to the future plans there is nothing ready to be announced, at this point. Currently we are going through lot of things (such as the promoter, possible compensating tour, the line-up of the band for practical reasons, recording schedule etc). We will update you here as soon as things get confirmed!"
