Biography

My first memories from a rehearsal place full of beer bottles and cigarette smoke was in the age of 8 or something. It was my brother who took me along to his band rehearsals to listen when they played Helloween, Iron maiden and some of their own stuff. I sold my soul to music at that very second. Twister Sister, Wasp and Europe’s music videos at the MTV guaranteed that there is no turning back. Few years later I got my first acoustic guitar and learned to play Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water riff. I stole Queenrÿche, Tarot, White Snake and TS vinyls from my brother and stared and listened to them with shimmering eyes. I had found my destiny.

Not long after that I started to compose my own songs with a friend I had just met. We formed a band called Predominance at autumn 1993. I started as a drummer but pretty quickly I found myself screaming to the awful smelling dirty microphone that worked every now and then. It was also stolen from my brother of course. Pretty soon after that we made our first live appearance at winter 1993.

January 1996 I met Ilkka and Juhani and Reflexion saw its daylight. We started to write songs together right away. In 1997 we made our first demo-tape. Around 2000 I was asked to join a project band called For My Pain... I jumped in to this "therapy" project and it’s still going on strongly. I have worked with several great bands and musicians already and I hope there’s still lot of things coming in the future.

Nowadays music takes nearly all my time but I don’t complain because it has been my dream since I was a little boy. If I’m not working with music I spend my time at home with the love of my life. I like to watch movies, listen music, read and at summer I go fly-fishing. I love to listen all kinds of music but 70's and 80's hard rock is closest to my heart. I bow to all the great singers like Geoff Tate, Marco Hietala and David Coverdale who had a strong influence to the choices I have made in my life when I was younger. Music has ruined and saved me.
